A recent study highlights the substantial carbon emissions and energy consumption of U.S. hyperscale data centers, which are largely driven by AI adoption. These facilities accounted for about 1.8% of total U.S. electricity consumption, with over half of their energy sourced from fossil fuels, raising environmental concerns.
