A new framework for assessing claims about artificial general intelligence (AGI) has been proposed, addressing the lack of a unified definition. This framework, DAF-AGI, evaluates definitions and governance of AGI claims, highlighting the complexities in measuring AGI's capabilities. The findings suggest that current generative systems may not meet AGI standards under various operational definitions. This could influence ongoing debates and regulatory approaches in AI governance.
