A new study shows that human oversight significantly enhances the reliability of AI-assisted social science research. By implementing a Human-in-the-Loop Economic Research framework, failure rates in AI-generated research dropped from 72% to 16%. This approach emphasizes the importance of structured cognitive labor between humans and AI, ensuring more dependable outputs. The findings suggest that while AI can assist, human involvement remains crucial for valid research conclusions.
